10 Telltale Signs You're a Expert at Reading People

Reading people isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re interested in doing so, you can start picking up on certain telltale signs that will help you figure out what someone might be thinking and feeling just by observing their body language, facial expressions, and speech patterns.

Here are ten signs that you’re a natural at reading people and can easily guess someone’s true feelings behind the scenes.

1) You pick up on others’ body language

If you can tell when someone is uncomfortable, paying attention to minute body language details, it’s highly likely that you are an expert at reading people.

Most people don’t pay enough attention to other people’s body language to be able to draw conclusions about what that person is thinking or feeling. But experts do, and they also know how body language affects behavior.

The goal of reading others’ body language is less about understanding what they think and more about learning how their brains work—what makes them tick and how they react under different circumstances. The only way to truly understand these things is by observing their bodies.

2) You often win people over with your charm

Well, it’s true. Those who are very good at reading people can certainly charm someone into their court. In fact, sometimes you might be so good that you can even convince people to do things they might not want to do just because they like you so much.

But don’t worry, your charming ways aren’t going to get in your way when it comes to reading people; in fact, most of them are pretty beneficial for your career or business relationships.

Because if there is one thing being an expert on people will tell you… It’s that there is a lot of value in being able to read them quickly and accurately! So go out there and work on bringing out your charismatic side!

3) You’re able to sense if someone likes you

A big part of nonverbal communication is being able to tell if someone likes you. Often, how much they like you can be determined by something as simple as eye contact.

When speaking with another person, remember that generally, long-lasting and meaningful eye contact is between three and six seconds.

If they make eye contact for any longer than that, it’s a safe bet that you’ve got them hooked. That’s only one example of reading people; there are plenty more where that came from!
