In order to attract all you want in your life and have the Law of Attraction working for you, you need to maintain the vibration of what you wish to attract. In order to stay in alignment, you need to stay grounded.

What is meant by grounding yourself?

Grounding Yourself basically means that you’re present in your body and connected with yourself, allowing you to feel centered and balanced no matter what’s going on around you. You’re like a tree, present in the world but with deep roots and connected with the earth. We all pick up on the energies of other people to some degree, but highly sensitive people can actually be like a sponge absorbing everything, including negative energies.

Ever felt really down suddenly and for no apparent reason? You might be picking up on someone else’s feelings and emotions. That’s why it is so important to ground yourself and get rid of all the negative stuff that’s not yours and can lower your vibration. This is especially important if you work or spend a large amount of time in an environment full of other people.

How do you know if you’re ungrounded?

Symptoms of being ungrounded can include feeling lightheaded, unable to think straight, feeling down suddenly, feeling anxious or worried.

Basically all emotions and feelings that are negative and make you feel bad. Because your natural state is feeling good, calm and in alignment! So, today I’m about to tell you some grounding techniques you can do every day or when you feel like it in order to feel grounded.

You can even do these techniques even if you don’t feel ungrounded, since they are really good to connect you further with the Universe and to stay in alignment – and they feel great too!

9 Grounding Yourself Techniques:

1. Get out in nature

This is the most simple and natural way to ground yourself. Surrounding yourself with nature is going back to basics and connecting directly with Mother Earth. Nature is source energy and has the power to release you from unwanted energies and also to charge yourself with positive energy.

Go to a park, to a forest or to the beach. As you’re there, try to walk barefoot on the grass or the beach sand or try hugging a tree. Doing this transfers free electrons from the Earth’s surface into your body that spread throughout your tissues. This is called Earthing. You’ll feel amazing afterwards!

Listening to the wind shaking the trees, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore or the water flowing on the river is really a soothing experience, like an energetic massage to the soul. Being around nature is truly a healing experience. This is actually one of my favorite grounding exercises, and one I usually do before I write!

2. Focus on your breath

When it’s not possible for you to go out into nature, go somewhere you can be alone for a few minutes. Close your eyes and focus your attention on your breath. Visualize inhaling good positive energy and exhaling the negative energy out of your body.

Do this until you feel you’re coming to a peaceful state. If thoughts arise, let them go and focus on the breath. This is like a small meditation that will instantly calm you down.

3. Exercise

Exercise is a great way to grounding yourself!

Anything your like and keeps your body moving will release endorphins and will help to take out all the negative energy out of your body.

Many people go to the gym and engage in exercise they don’t really like, which can have the opposite effect of making you just feel more exhausted and drained. So, the trick here is to stay with an activity that your enjoy doing: yoga, running, swimming, dancing, etc… Anything that gets your blood flowing and makes you happy and energized! If you can exercise around nature, then it’s even better!

4. Take a sea salt bath

Salt is a powerful thing that quickly eliminates all negative energy from your body.

The best thing you can do is just take a dive in the ocean, but if this is not possible just prepare a bubble bath at home and add sea salt in it. Epsom salt is great, but just regular sea salt from the kitchen will do it too.

Put the lights down low in the bathroom, light some candles if you wish and stay in the bath for about 20 minutes. Just allow yourself to relax and think about nothing.

5. Eat grounding food

Foods that come directly from the Earth like root vegetables do wonders to keep you grounded.

Pay attention to what you eat daily and plan your meals in advance if you can, so you can avoid eating things that are unhealthy to your body and make you more vulnerable to feel ungrounded. Also, pay close attention to how your body feels after you eat.

You’re supposed to feel good and energized, so any food that makes you feel sluggish, bloated or just plain bad, avoid it.

6. Say no to negativity

Every time you’re around people or a situation that you feel is making you feel bad and is making you feel ungrounded, leave!

You have the right to leave any person or situation that is lowering your vibration at any time. Every one is responsible for their own vibration and you don’t have to put up with other people’s negativity at any times. Just say no and leave. Remember, when you’re saying no to negativity from others, you’re saying yes to yourself.

7. Surround yourself with positivity

And of course, surround yourself with people and situations that make you feel good and lift you higher!

This involves making conscious choices of who and what is allowed to be in your life. Something you can also do that works wonders to make you feel instantly good is watching a funny or inspirational video, or reading inspirational quotes.

8. Visualize protection

If you’re in a situation surrounded by negativity and cannot leave for any reason (for example at work), close your eyes and visualize yourself surrounded by a white light of protection.

Ask that all negativity bounces on that protective light and goes away from you. Make sure you also ask that you’re still open to positivity to enter.

Also, make sure you visualize roots coming from your feet and entering the earth underneath so you’re connected to the Earth at all times.

9. Affirmations

Tell yourself out loud β€œI am happy”, β€œI am abundance”, β€œI am love”, etc. This will take you back into the present moment and will reconnect you with yourself.

Remember, the conscious act of recognizing when you feel ungrounded and act upon it to make you feel good again is very powerful! Not only it makes you aware of how you feel but connects you with your inner power to change your vibration at any times. You don’t have to feel powerless anymore because you’re feeling down, worried, stressed, etc.

You know much better now because you’re actively creating the life of your dreams, starting by how you feelt.
